Estate agents barely sell one property a week

14 October 2008

New figures show that estate agents are barely selling one property a week.

An average of 11.5 homes were sold per agency in the three months to September 30th. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyers said that this is the lowest recorded level since 1978. London is suffering the most with estate agents averaging just 8 sales in the same period.

The actual number of inquiries from new buyers has improved for the fifth consecutive month.

Now could be a great time to get on the property ladder with prices a lot lower than they were this time last year.
