Men told to check their insurance when on a stag do
03 June 2008
Men embarking on a stag do should check their insurance covers the activities they plan to do, according to an events organiser.
With 70 per cent of British people preferring to have a stag do or hen weekend abroad it is vital they have the appropriate insurance as 24 per cent of revellers have lost their passport or been arrested, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Events such as bobsleighing and machine gun shooting are increasingly popular with stag dos, according to Designaventure, so men should check their insurance covers these activities.
Anna Makin Made, project manager of Designaventure, said: "We advise everyone to take out their own insurance and check that they are covered for the activities that theyre doing. Sometimes theres a little clause saying they dont cover for machine gun shooting, so they need to check with their insurance company that they are covered."
Research by the Halifax revealed that 26 per cent of men had been on a single sex holiday in the previous year.
