People should not "scrimp" on drawing up a will
13 May 2008
More people should make a will or risk leaving their loved ones nothing, according to a finance company.
Too many people believe that if they die their spouse will inherit their property without them having to make a will, claims Fool.co.uk.
Anyone with children or who has assets over £125, 000 should spend the £50 to £200 it costs to arrange a will in order to secure the financial future of their family and loved ones.
David Kuo, head of personal finance at Fool.co.uk, said: "There are some things you should not scrimp on, and drawing up a will is definitely one of them. If you want to have a say as to where your money goes after you die, then you need to draw up a will too."
People should also draw up wills if they have any specific arrangements they would like for their funeral.
Research by Barclays Wealth revealed that two in three people in the UK have no will prepared.
