Online banking will help people save
18 August 2008
By banking online people will be able to monitor their money more closely and this will help them to plan their finances, claims the Association of Payment Clearing Services (APACS).
According to APACS, online banking allows savers easy and regular access to a number accounts which means they can compare bank accounts to see how much savings they have in each.
Michelle Meyer, a spokesperson for APACS, said: "I think what it will do is give people an exact picture of where they stand which is always a good thing if you are trying to manage your budget."
Banking online is important in the current economic climate as you can keep a strict control on your outgoings, claims Ms Meyer.
"Having access to your finances whenever you want and seeing what is going in and coming out puts you in a good place," she added.
Research by APACS revealed that over half of all internet users now bank online, an increase of 505 per cent in the past seven years.
